This has haunted me my for so long and I stumbled across this site and could not help myself. It has weighed on me so much.... It all started on a Saturday I wanted to go hang out with friends, for some reason my mum was against me going out that day. If only I had listened. I drove into town had a few drinks, it was a good day until it wasn't. On my way back, it was a weekend, I wanted a little speed. Crash, I hit her, she was crossing over the road, it was dark.....

Till this day I cannot forgive myself, I drove on and this will haunt me for the rest of my life. No one knows except you. And it will remain, anonymous, until my maker judges me.

  1. you said you hit her. is her your mom, a pedestrian, a relative?

  2. Hi,
You reacted instinctively and you did what any of us might do, in order to survive.
What is done, is done and you can't go back and change anything.
You can only go forward and I assure you, that with time, things get easier to bear and memories get fuzzy, until it all seems like a distant dream.
Shit happens - learn from your mistakes, so that you never make them again.
We learn from our mistakes, that is how we become better people, of ourselves and how we learn to survive.
If you repay your debt by giving of yourself in some other way, as recompense, things will sit easier with you - I do my bit, for example, by giving positive advice where I think it might help and has merit, like here and now, with you.
Time to move on, what is past is past, enjoy your life - we only have one life and we are a long time dead, time enough then, to think about the mistakes you made in life - but not while you are alive and have life.
    Best Wishes - a friend.
